KUBRAT YOUTH with a new leader

On April 18 and 19, 2026, the Spring National Convention took place in Apriltsi, bringing together representatives of the Bulgarian National Union and KUBRAT YOUTH from all over Bulgaria.

This year, the convention coincided with the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the April Uprising. Prior to the official proceedings, a brief historical lecture was held in front of the insurgents' monument in the town center. Following this, members of the Kubrat Youth took a walk in the surroundings of Apriltsi and climbed to the "Krasta" (The Cross) area.

After the walk, the group headed to the venue for the main part of the assembly, attended by representatives from Sliven, Plovdiv, Sofia, Varna, and other regions.

Following extensive discussions and proposals, the members of the Bulgarian National Union and KUBRAT YOUTH reached the following decisions:

- Kubrat Stoyan Manasiev was appointed as the Leader of KUBRAT YOUTH, replacing Iliya Gyurov, who was removed following a Disciplinary Council.

- To produce a video response addressing the false allegations made by Iliya Gyurov against the Organization. This measure is necessary due to the lies spread by Gyurov online regarding his expulsion from BNU/KM by the Disciplinary Council.

- To initiate a procedure for the re-registration of the political party. This step is required by the circumstances that necessitate BNU’s participation in all upcoming elections in Bulgaria.

- The leader, Boyan Rasate, and the members decided to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Bulgarian National Union with various activities and propaganda materials. This is seen as essential not only for the Organization's promotion but also to firmly establish the ideology of "Kubratism" within society.

The convention officially concluded on the following day, April 19.

On the return journey to Sofia, the group visited the Troyan Monastery. Founded around the 17th century, it is a vital part of Bulgaria's cultural and historical heritage, housing frescoes by Zahari Zograf and icons from the era of Ottoman rule.

The members paid their respects to the memory of the fallen freedom fighters whose remains are preserved in the monastery.

With this, the Spring National Convention of the BNU and KUBRAT YOUTH came to a close.
